October 2nd

Toy Story 3D Double Feature

I went to see this today and they were just as amazing as I remembered! It’s not often that you find a sequel on par with the original film, but both Toy Story & Toy Story 2 are among the greatest animated films ever made. The 3D aspect didn’t do much in way of things jumping out, but it did give the film a great look. It’s two movies for the price of one and it’s a limited engagement (out for two weeks only) so catch it while you can!

Whip It

Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut looks charming, funny, and like a must see! It also packs a pretty freaking amazing cast (i.e. Kristen Wiig, Ellen Page, etc.). I’ve been waiting for this film to come out for so long! And it was filmed in Michigan, which I think is pretty cool because we need the film industry in this state.

I love a good zombie flick and this one looks like it won’t disappoint. I’ve already seen/heard so much good things about it that I’m soo planning to see this tomorrow, forget the fact that I’m totally broke.

Couples Retreat

This looks like a typical comedy, not looking for anything original here. I feel that it still will be a very enjoyable film that will give me a good laugh. I love the actors and I’m especially fond of that hottie Jason Bateman. Oooooooh god I’m so in love with him.

An Education (limited)

Sadly it will probably won’t make it to Michigan cinemas or if it does it will probably be way too expensive for a ticket. I’m very interested in this plot and just by the trailer I already want to find out what happens to our main character as she chooses to do what she really wants to do in life.

Where The Wild Things Are

The look of the film looks like my kind of fare. While I’m not to up on the book or what the story is I still want to see this film. Dare I say it looks enchanting? exhilarating? just plain good? God I’m gonna ned to take out a loan for this month’s movie tickets.

Law Abiding Citizen

This film looks insane. Insanely good.

New York, I Love You (limited)

I’m a big fan of Paris, Je T’amie and I loved what they did. I’m very excited to see the same kind of deal (an anthology of love stories) in New York.

October 23rd

Antichrist (limited)

I think this is a New York/ L.A. only kind of deal which is okay because it will be available on video OnDemand starting the 21st of October. Apparently this film has caused a bit of a stir. It looks pretty extreme and that’s just based on the trailer. I’m a little scared of just seeing it.

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant

I’ve always seen the book, but I’ve never read it. This looks like a fun dark adventure, something that I most definitely could enjoy.

The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (limited)

Pippa Lee seems like an interesting character and from what I’ve seen in the trailer I think this is the kind of film I’d like. Except for the parts with Keanu Reeves. I hate Keanu Reeves.

October 30th

Gentleman Broncos (limited)

Michael Angarano is ridiculously talented. This film looks like it will be hilarious, but I’m seeing it for Michael. Oh and for Jennifer Coolidge, love her.

The House of the Devil (limited)

This film looks like it is terrifying! It has a premise perfect for a horror movie and it’s coming out just in time for Halloween! I am more for the atmospheric horror film than a gore fest and this seems just like the type of horror I enjoy. It appears it is going to be a very limited thing so if you don’t want to wait till DVD it’s available on Video On Demand from and Xbox Live.

Coming Soon | September 2009

September 1, 2009

September 4th

Chris Pine and Piper Perabo star in this survival horror film about running from a deadly virus. Follow the rules and you stay alive, sadly the trailer ruins it a bit for us by showing Piper’s character infected, but I’m still very excited to see this creepy new film. This is my MUST SEE for September!

September 9th

A Tim Burton animated film set after the human race was destroyed and the killer robots are after some Rag Dolls that survived the human apocalypse? Did I get it right? I really don’t know whats happening, yet I wanna see it.

September 11th

Sorority Row

Looks like a decent slasher horror that could be either really good or really bad. When the prank goes wrong and a sister of the sorority winds up dead they think they can just sweep it under the rug? (And by rug I mean well).

September 18th

Jennifer’s Body

The third horror film this month! Yeah! I am extremely excited to this film written by the one and only Diablo Cody, writer of Juno and the amazing Showtime series United States of Tara. This a horror comedy about a possessed cheerleader and her best friend that has to put an end to her boy murdering ways. This is my MUST SEE for September! (okay so I have two).

September 25th

The fact that they did a remake of the original 1980s film isn’t surprising. With the success with the whole High School Musical lot and all why not bring back the musical about a New York Academy of Performing Arts? All in all it looks pretty good and I can’t wait to see V Factory member Asher Brooke all over this film, Kay Panabaker? Not so much.

Coming Soon | August 2009

August 12, 2009

This is the beginning of a new feature that I’m going to do on a monthly basis (a schedule I can keep, unlike the disater that was Song of the Day). It will be called “Coming Soon”, not original, but I feel it gets the message across! It will showcase films that will be released that month, the ones that I would like to see/ would recommend. I will tell you a little about why I’m so excited to see or why interested in it. I’m going to post the trailer for each of the film and let that do the job of telling you what it is about, because that’s their purpose! Inform, intrigue, and entertain! So I hope you enjoy this and leave me some feedback, tell me what your planning on seeing, what you feel I missed, DID YOU SEE IT? LET ME KNOW. Now I will cut the red tape and reveal the first month I’ll be covering… August!

Yours Truly,

Kameron Aloud

August 7th

Julie & Julia

Meryl Streep and Amy Adams? Of course I want to see this. Aside from the lure of guaranteed outstanding performances I have to see this film for the amazing directorial skills Nora Ephron pulls out by intertwining the lives of these two women based on books written by the real life Julie & Julia!

(500) Days of Summer

Another film in which I love both of the actors. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel seem to light up even the trailer for this film, a quirky indie romantic comedy with one of the greatest taglines “Boy meets Girl. Boy falls in love. Girl doesn’t.” I’ve heard all good things thus far.

August 14th

District 9

I’m seriously curious to what this film is all about. After seeing months of advertising, teaser trailers, and posters at my cinema telling me this bathroom is for humans only not aliens I feel that they’ve succeeded in making me want to see it. I wanna to know: Why won’t they just let the aliens leave?

Paper Heart

I’ve heard about this film through Entertainment Weekly when they were talking about a new little wave of offbeat romantic comedies soon to hit theater. So I checked out the trailer, which you have to see, were they asked a girl about the perfect date (about 35 seconds in). Immediately after her answer I had decided, “oh yes. I’m seeing this“.

Grace (limited)

Twisted, creepy, slightly terrifying, yup it’s a must see. A blood thirsty baby not on formula? What a weird concept for a film that I’ll probably won’t get to see anytime soon because “limited” pretty much always means = will not be shown anywhere near here. Not to worry, this horror hits DVD early with a September 15th release.

August 21st

Post Grad

This is exactly the kind of film I want to see! One were I can actually relate to the character because I’m coming up to that point in my life. It’s the end of term papers and test, lectures and labs, stuff we’ve dealt with most of our young lives and it leaves at the film’s tagline: “Now What?”.  It looks sweet and hilarious with a good cast to match. Post Grad is my MUST SEE for August.

Inglorious Bastards

I’m watching the trailer on TV as I type. Yup I need to see this! It looks great. It looks like everybody’s in it and Tarantino is the director? Wow my interest is only getting higher. I’ve got alot of films to see this August.

August 28th

The Final Destination

I’m a fan of the series and I’m excited they did another one, especially one with a male lead again because I’m a wee bit tired of female lead horror films. Am I excited that it’s going to be 3D? No, I don’t feel like paying 14.50 for any film and have to wear glasses over my own. The setup is doesn’t seem as fun as the roller coaster or an airplane disaster, like in the previous films, but never-the-less I love the genre.
