Paolo Nutini is back with his sophomore album ‘Sunny Side Up’.

22 year old ‘New Shoes’ singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini will release his follow up album Sunny Side Up on June 1st (UK) and June 2nd (US). Here is the outstanding lead single entitled ‘Candy’:

I love this new song and I really feel it is different that his previous work. It has more of a folk-esque vibe to it and is a more mature sound for him. Now it looks like this is going to be released May 18th in the UK, but it appears it’s already available here in the states on iTunes, yeah! In support of his new album, Paolo will be touring the UK, with a 12+ date North American tour coming this summer. I most definitely will be going. Tickets are $20 and are on presale now @ Paolo Nutini Ticketing

Song of the Day: ‘Our Battles’

‘Our Battles’ is my absolute favorite song from Norwegian singer/songwriter Maria Mena. She also happens to be one of my all time favorite artists! She is just immensely talented which is showcased by her beautiful lyricism and emotion filled vocals. She has released an album  in America with 2004’s White Turns Blue and some of you may recognize her only US single ‘Your The Only One‘ (that’s when I fell in love with her) or possibly her hit acoustic ballad ‘Sorry‘, but she most definitely needs to release her subsequent work! IT MAD GENIUS!! Esp. Apparently Unaffected. Come on Maria, Come back.

Song of the Day: ‘Mr. Therapy Man’

20 year old Canadian/American singer-songwriter Justin Nozuka made his American debut last year with his first album Holly (listed as one of my favorite albums of 2008). I was lucky enough to see him last year in concert and it was amazing! I love his beautifully crafted lyrics and he puts so much emotion into every performance, both on the CD and live. ‘Mr. Therapy Man’ is my favorite song on his album, it’s just how he sings it that makes me love it so much (of course the fact that it has great lyrics too).
